The Hong Kong Integrated Nepalese Society Limited (HINS) is a registered non-profit charitable organization under the Company Ordinance of Hong Kong. Since its establishment, HINS has been dedicated to empowering the Nepalese community, addressing everyday challenges, and fostering integration into the wider society.
We have built strong and lasting partnerships with government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and minority associations, enabling us to deliver impactful programmes and services that respond to the real needs of the community.
Our Journey
- Community Support: From 2006 to 2015, HINS operated the Nepalese Community Support Team (NCST), a decade-long initiative executed with transparency, efficiency, and zero outstanding issues.
- Grassroots Engagement: Over 15 years of service, HINS has reached deep into the community, ensuring accessibility to social services and resources.
- Institutional Partnerships: Since 2011, HINS has collaborated with the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) on funded projects, while also working closely with the Hong Kong Police Force, universities, healthcare providers, and NGOs.
- Cultural Representation: At the request of the Consulate General of Nepal, HINS has proudly represented the Nepalese community in cultural showcases organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
Our Impact
- Disaster Relief: Following the 2015 Nepal earthquake, HINS coordinated with 67 Nepalese organizations to organize Hong Kong’s first large-scale community vigil, attended by thousands and supported by the HKSAR Government.
- Drug Prevention: In 2018–2019, HINS successfully delivered the “Reach Beyond Prevention” programme, funded by the Beat Drugs Fund, achieving full targets and receiving highly positive feedback.
- Emergency Support: HINS provided financial assistance to victims of the Canton Road fire in 2020.
- Media Outreach: Through RTHK’s Community Base Radio Programmes, HINS continues to broadcast in the Nepalese language, raising awareness on social issues and promoting inclusion.
